GU has 550 excellent employees; 260 full-time professors, 160 part-time professors, and 10 foreign professors.

Location

Gwangju University is located in the city of Gwangju. The city of Gwangju has a long history and culture with very convenient metro services and public conveniences. The average temperature is around 13.8 degrees Celsius. The trip from the downtown area to the university takes less than 30 minutes by car and 1 hour 30 minutes by KTX from Seoul.

Facilities

We welcome students to study and acquire knowledge at Hosim Memorial Library with a large collection of books and good environment for learning. There is also a fitness center in both the male and female dormitories. Additionally, there is also music hall, playground, basketball court, etc., so that the students not only can study but also enjoy some exercise and various activities.

International Relationship

By reaching agreements of academic exchange programs with 64 universities in 10 countries including Heilongjiang University in China, Western Illinois University in the USA, Ehime University in Japan, and Van Hien University in Vietnam, GU is actively interacting with universities abroad Gwangju University sending and receiving exchange students and supporting mutual visits. For foreign students, opened KSL, Korean as a Second Language, and provides strong foundational intensive KSL courses for 1 or 2 years. (By obtaining level 3 of TOPIK, Test of Proficiency in Korean, students may enter the undergraduate programs.
